Sunday June 10th was date of the 6th annual NOBS  ( Northern Old Bastards) show and shine, sponsored by Hotel Ladysmith in downtown Ladysmith, Quebec.

Prizes were awarded for the following classes of motorcycles:
Pre 1960, 1961 to 1970, 1971 to 1982, 1983 to 1995, 1996 to 2013, Custom, Best in Show or peoples choice, Best Vintage (pre 1995) and a new category for the combination of the Oldest bike and Rider ridden in. As usual all the year class trophies and the oldest bike and rider trophy are sponsored by Ernie and Cathy Pasch of the Hotel Ladysmith, The Municipality of Thorne have donated the Best in Show and Bretzlaff's Store the Best Vintage.

Our northern section have now allocated their area donations for 2012 and were pleased to have been able to help the following worthy organizations:

Renfrew Relay for Life  $100 
(This donation was made in memory of Hillary Afelskie, daughter of member Richard Afelskie) 

St. Joseph's Food Bank (Pembroke)  $250
The Blessed Cupboard (Shawville)  $250
Quyon Family Centre  $250
Lanark County Food Bank  $250
Hospice Renfrew  $300
Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation  $500
Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation $500
Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation   $500

Almonte General Hospital/Fairview Manor  Foundation  $500
Wakefield Memorial Hospital  $500

In all, $5200 was distributed within the various communities that our members call home!



Old Bastard Bill Wilson would like to thank the club and all the individual members who supported him on the 2011 Ride for Dad.  Over $3600 was raised, bringing his overall cumulative total to over $11000!! 

The 3rd Annual Northern Old Bastards Show & Shine was the place to be to see some beautiful machines, meet some great people and eat some tasty ribs!  Fun was had and awards were won in the following categories:

Here's a pic of the presentation of funds to the Pembroke Regional Hospital. 

NOB Bill Wilson presented a comprehensive report to the Executive and Membership at our 2011 AGM, that included details of donations made to various charities to date, including:

2007:  $330 to Diabetes Foundation
2008:  $800 to the families of returning and deceased Canadian Forces Veterans
          $200 to Lions Club
2009:  See details below
2010:  $800 to Food Banks
          $500 to local Hospital

An additional $2000 worth of funding from the home section was divvied up between four local hospitals.

I'm sure you'll agree that our Northern brothers are doing an incredible job of representing the Old Bastards in the northern communities!







Our northern members donated to the following charities in 2009:

Gatineau Memorial Hospital - $500

Arnprior Hospital - $500

Campbells Bay Food Bank - $300

Cobden / White Water Region Food Bank - $300

Medical expenses for a NOB family member - $800

Funds were raised by various methods, including regular 50/50 draws at breakfast meetings. Congratulations to the lucky winners on both sides!
